During these days, Colombia commemorates the Palace of Justice Siege, a tragic event that occurred over November 6 and 7 1985 in Bogota. On this date, members of a guerilla group attacked the Palace of Justice in Bogota and held the Supreme Court hostage. The intention of terrorists was to held a trial against President Belisario Betancur. Several hours later, a military raid was ordered. Consequently, 11 out of 25 Supreme Court Justices were killed.
